Ansford Academy is celebrating after the release of its recent inspection report where inspectors declared that ‘pupils flourish at Ansford Academy’.
Ansford Academy, part of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership (MNSP) Trust, was inspected under the new Ofsted 2026 report card framework in February 2026. The school achieved strong standard in two areas (Leadership and Governance & Personal Development and Wellbeing) and achieved expected standard in all of the other areas (Curriculum and Teaching, Inclusion, Achievement & Attendance and Behaviour). They also achieved the statutory requirement of met for Safeguarding.
The report identifies the huge amount of work the school has achieved in moving forward over the last two years. The school has worked closely with leaders of the Trust to enable significant change to take place in a relatively short time period and “leaders have taken a holistic approach to developing the school in the best interests of pupils”.
Inspectors found that “every pupil is welcome and supported at this school”, and that “Pupils and staff alike enjoy coming to school”.
Behaviour was praised in the report where inspectors said “Pupils behave well. They work hard, concentrate on their learning and conduct themselves sensibly around the school site”, and that “Pupils are able to learn in classrooms where disruption is very rare”.
In the report, inspectors said “pupils gain the knowledge, skills and qualifications they need for their next steps in education, employment or training” and that “staff and leaders check that the support that is being provided is helping pupils learn and thrive. They know when pupils need more support or when they have developed greater confidence and so no longer need the same level of help. Many pupils describe feeling empowered as a result of this approach’

We endeavour to provide an environment where “pupils flourish” and take advantage of the varied sporting and creative clubs and events that the school offers them. We look forward to our students achieving another record breaking set of GCSE results this summer that will enable them to follow their dreams and be successful in their journey post 16”
