Trio Paradis – Jacquelyn Bevan (piano), Lisa Betteridge (violin) & Linda Stocks (cello) – formed in 2009 and perform Café Concerts – feel-good musical events with a pop-up café – in community venues across Somerset and Wiltshire.
At All Saints’ Church they play a concert at 2pm on the first Wednesday of each month.
Each concert is different, with a range of musical styles brought together in a themed programme, and there is the chance to chat with friends and make new ones as well as enjoy the music. Audience members are encouraged to contribute if they wish, by helping to run the café, contributing a cake, reading a poem, helping to publicise the concerts…or just relax and ‘take some time out’…
September’s concert is Romantic Trios: works by Felix & Fanny Mendelssohn, Clara & Robert Schumann, Schubert and others. Concerts last c45mins and entrance is free with pay-what-you-feel donation invited. Refreshments are available in the café half an hour before the concert. No need to book, just turn up. Bring a cushion for the pew if you like.
